Chapter 9 – Omega’s Brussels Counterstrike

Chapter 9 – Omega’s Brussels Counterstrike

⚔️ Omega Command Bunker – Brussels, Belgium, 03:11

Deep beneath the sleek glass towers of Brussels, Omega’s High Command gathered in a reinforced bunker lined with digital screens displaying Ireland, UK, and European demographic overlays. A giant hologram of Salty’s team flickered above the central war table.

General Udoff, a pale skeletal man with cybernetic eyes, tapped his cane against the floor.

“They have humiliated us again. Rahman Patel, Kirov, Rahmani – all gone. Initiate Operation Morpheus. Release Parasite Strain Delta through the Dublin convoy immediately.”

His aide shifted nervously. “Sir, that will infect thousands within hours.”

Udoff smiled, metal teeth glinting. “Exactly.”

💥 Na Fianna Nua HQ – Dublin Mountains, 05:45

Salty’s team gathered around the digital briefing table. Red alerts flashed across the screen, satellite imagery displaying Omega’s convoy leaving Brussels under heavy guard.

Funji pointed at the screen calmly. “Convoy carries Delta Strain. Blood-borne, airborne, neurotoxic. 98% lethality within three hours. Entire urban clusters will collapse in days.”

Sarah ran her fingers through her tousled blonde hair, cleavage peeking over her tight tank top as she leaned in.

“They’re going full genocide. We stop them at the Belgian border or it’s too late.”

Salty nodded grimly, eyes burning with purpose. “We go now. Lock and load.”

🔫 The Assault

Hours later, dawn broke over the Belgian countryside. The Omega convoy, a line of armoured troop carriers and parasite transport trucks, rolled through mist-covered fields.

Squallshy perched atop a ruined farm silo, Barrett .50 aimed down the narrow country road.

“Targets acquired, boss. Permission to redecorate their brains?”

Salty’s voice crackled back. “Granted.”

BOOM!

The lead truck’s driver’s head exploded, blood misting the cracked windscreen as the vehicle swerved into a ditch, rolling in a shower of sparks.

All-Out Firefight

Funji leapt from a tree branch, slicing open an Omega trooper’s neck before disappearing back into the mist like a phantom.

Ye Olde Large Lad waded through enemy ranks, M249 spitting hellfire as he shouted:

“THIS IS FOR RUINING ME HOLIDAY PLANS, YA WEE BASTARDS!”

Winky fired his smiley-face RPG at an Omega APC, the warhead punching through its turret before detonating in a massive fireball.

“Kaboom baby!” he howled, fist-pumping with glee.

🎯 Niamh’s Redemption

From a safe distance, Niamh worked her hacked Omega comms, redirecting air support away from Salty’s team and flooding enemy channels with false intel.

Her hands trembled, sweat running down her forehead as she whispered to herself, “Please let this make up for it… please…”

❤️ Salty and Sarah’s Bond

In the chaos, Sarah pinned down behind a burning troop carrier, reloading her MP5K. Bullets sparked off the wreckage around her.

Salty dove in beside her, spraying down an advancing squad with his H&K. Their eyes met amidst the thunder of gunfire.

“Don’t you dare get killed,” she said, voice shaking with emotion.

Salty smirked, brushing his thumb across her cheek, smearing dirt and blood away.

“Not today, love. Not while you’re here.”

She grinned, chambered her final magazine, and kissed him hard before leaning out to unleash a barrage of fire into the last Omega troopers.

💥 Final Showdown

The team regrouped at the parasite truck. Funji slit open the reinforced locks, revealing rows of canisters marked with biohazard symbols and glowing red warning lights.

Winky stepped up, flicking his detonator on.

“Light ‘em up, lads?”

Salty nodded. “Burn every last parasite.”

🔥 The Inferno

The blast lit the dawn sky in searing orange flames, sending parasite spores and Omega corpses into oblivion. The team stood watching the inferno, silent and grim.

🚁 Extraction

As the chopper arrived, Niamh approached Salty, tears streaming down her face.

“Thank you… for giving me this chance.”

Salty stared at her for a long moment before nodding once.

“Redemption costs blood, Niamh. Earn it every day.”

She nodded, wiping her eyes before boarding the Blackhawk.

💪 Final Words

As they lifted off, Sarah rested her head against Salty’s chest, her tank top clinging to her curves under her tactical vest. He wrapped an arm around her, eyes locked on the burning Belgian fields below.

“It’s not over yet,” she whispered.

Salty’s jaw tightened. “No. But it soon will be.”
