Chapter 10 – The Final Hour (Part 2)
☢️ Omega’s Command Bunker – Launch Room, 04:00
Cross stood before three nuclear warheads, his gaunt frame silhouetted by pulsing red alarm lights. His icy eyes flicked up as Salty and his team burst into the launch room, weapons raised.
“Ah, Salty… finally arrived to watch your pathetic world burn.”
Salty levelled his H&K at Cross’s skull.
“Not today, ya lanky bollocks.”
🔫 Final Battle
Funji slipped sideways, blades flashing at Omega guards. Blood sprayed as he danced through them with surgical grace, a silent angel of death.
Ye Olde Large Lad charged forward, ripping the M249 off its tripod mount and firing from the hip as he roared:
“THIS IS FOR SARAH, YA SCUMBAGS!”
His rounds tore two mechs in half before he swung his sledgehammer down, crushing an Omega general’s skull like a melon.
⚡ WhizzAir’s Final Drone Strike
WhizzAir launched his last two drones under the warhead transport tracks, detonating them in twin fireballs that rocked the bunker foundations.
“Go on ya good things!” he yelled, goggles flickering in the blast light.
💋 Sarah & Aishling’s Final Kill
Aishling vaulted over a control console, pistols blazing into Omega officers. Sarah moved beside her, MP7 barking controlled bursts as they swept the room with lethal grace.
Their eyes met as the last merc fell.
“Let’s go home, love,” Aishling whispered.
🔫 The Final Confrontation
Cross raised his custom SIG P226 at Salty, smirking. “This ends now, Irishman.”
Salty fired first.
The .45 round punched through Cross’s forehead, exploding out the back in a mist of brain and bone. His body crumpled lifelessly onto the control deck.
“And so it feckin’ does,” Salty muttered.
💣 Omega’s Destruction
Winky triggered his C4 detonator, giggling as mushrooming fireballs engulfed the warhead racks.
“BOOMSHAKALAKA, ya scumbags!”
🚁 Extraction & Final Scene
The team sprinted up the bunker escape tunnel as fire roared behind them. The black Eurocopter hovered overhead, rotor wash whipping snow and ash in wild flurries.
Sarah leapt into Salty’s arms as they clambered aboard, pressing her lips to his. Ye Olde Large Lad lumbered in last, tears streaking his beard as he gazed at her.
WhizzAir pulled Niamh into a deep, trembling kiss as Funji held Susan close, blood-spattered but alive.
As the chopper rose into the predawn sky, Salty stared down at the burning fortress below.
“It’s over… for now,” he growled softly.
Sarah pressed her head to his chest, smiling through tears.
“Till the next war, love.”
