The Salty Spain Special — Chapter 4

πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Έ The Salty Spain Special — Chapter 4

🐟 The Fish Market Feast

The treasure hunt was underway.

The map had been carefully folded.

Miguel the teddy bear was safely packed.

The Captain's Table meeting was finished.

There was only one problem.

They had absolutely no supplies.

Captain Morgan looked at the group.

“We need provisions.”

McFinleyyy nodded.

“Food?”

“Food, water, equipment…”

Ye Olde Large Lad interrupted.

“FOOD.”

Salty sighed.

“Yes, Large Lad. Food.”

Dinkz suddenly pointed down the street.

“There's a fish market over there.”

Everyone looked.

Sarah smiled.

“Fish sounds good.”

Susan agreed.

“Let's go.”

Large Lad was already walking.

“COME ON!”

🐟 Welcome to the Fish Market

The gang entered the fish market and immediately stopped.

There was seafood everywhere.

Fresh fish.

Prawns.

Mussels.

Calamari.

Crab.

Lobster.

And things that nobody could identify but Large Lad was determined to eat.

His eyes widened.

“This place…”

He paused dramatically.

“…is HEAVEN.”

Salty laughed.

“We came here for supplies.”

Large Lad nodded.

“Yes.”

“Not to eat everything.”

“Yes.”

“Large Lad…”

“I'M ONLY LOOKING.”

He was already pointing at a gigantic plate of prawns.

The group found a table and ordered enough food to feed a small army.

Or, more accurately, Ye Olde Large Lad.

The first plates arrived.

Then more.

Then more.

John Daniels looked at the table.

“Are we expecting another twenty people?”

“No,” said Sarah.

“Then why have we ordered this much?”

Everyone looked at Large Lad.

Large Lad looked innocent.

“I WAS HUNGRY.”

🍽️ The Feast

The food disappeared at an alarming rate.

Prawns vanished.

Fish disappeared.

Calamari didn't stand a chance.

Mussels were demolished.

Even the bread baskets were attacked.

McFinleyyy sat back.

“I think we've got enough supplies now.”

Captain Morgan nodded.

“Agreed.”

Salty looked around the table.

“Anyone else hungry?”

Everyone stared at him.

“No,” said Susan.

Sarah leaned back in her chair.

She placed a hand on her stomach.

“I’m stuffed.”

Dinkz nodded.

“Same.”

John Daniels looked at the empty plates.

“I don't think I've ever seen food disappear that quickly.”

Large Lad wiped his mouth.

“WE SHOULD ORDER DESSERT.”

Everyone shouted:

“NO!”

Large Lad looked wounded.

🍹 The Mysterious Drinks

Just as everyone thought the feast was over, the waiter appeared.

He was carrying a tray.

Sarah looked at him.

“We didn't order anything else.”

The waiter smiled.

He placed several glasses on the table.

Captain Morgan raised an eyebrow.

“What are those?”

The waiter explained the drinks.

Vodka Caramel.

Everyone looked at each other.

Salty picked up his glass.

“Now that's what I call treasure.”

Sarah laughed.

“I've just said I'm stuffed.”

Susan looked at her drink.

“You can still have one.”

Sarah sighed.

“Well… when in Spain.”

Large Lad looked at his glass.

Then at the others.

“IS THERE FOOD IN IT?”

“No.”

He immediately lost interest.

McFinleyyy took a sip.

He paused.

“That's actually very nice.”

Dinkz nodded.

“Dangerously nice.”

Captain Morgan smiled.

“That's usually the problem with drinks like this.”

John Daniels raised his glass.

“To the treasure hunt.”

Everyone raised theirs.

Salty stood up.

“To Spain!”

Sarah raised her glass.

“To good food!”

Susan added:

“To finding the treasure!”

Dinkz said:

“To Miguel!”

Everyone looked at the teddy bear sitting on the table.

Large Lad lifted him up.

“MIGUEL!”

And finally Captain Morgan raised his glass.

“To the Salty Gang.”

They all clinked glasses.

Cheers!

🧸 Miguel Gets Involved

There was just one strange thing.

When Salty put his glass down, he noticed something underneath Miguel.

A tiny piece of paper.

He picked it up.

“Hang on…”

Everyone stopped.

Salty unfolded it.

It was another clue.

Three words were written on it:

“FOLLOW THE FISH.”

The table went silent.

Dinkz looked towards the fish market.

John Daniels looked at the map.

McFinleyyy immediately opened his notebook.

Captain Morgan stood up.

Sarah stared at Salty.

“You're joking.”

Salty shook his head.

“Nope.”

Large Lad jumped to his feet.

“THE FISH KNOW WHERE THE TREASURE IS!”

Susan burst out laughing.

“They're dead, Large Lad!”

He thought about this.

“Oh.”

Salty looked at the clue again.

The treasure hunt had suddenly become more complicated.

The map had led them to the fish market.

The teddy had produced another clue.

And now they had to work out exactly what “FOLLOW THE FISH” meant.

Captain Morgan folded his arms.

“Tomorrow, we investigate.”

Salty nodded.

“Agreed.”

Large Lad raised his hand.

“AFTER BREAKFAST?”

Everyone groaned.

The Salty Spain adventure continued.

And somewhere in Spain, hidden beneath the sunshine and palm trees, the treasure was waiting.

The only question was…

Who—or what—were they supposed to follow?
