The Salty Spain Special — Chapter 14

🧹 The Salty Spain Special — Chapter 14

🍼 The Biggest Surprise Yet

The Salty Gang were finally home.

The treasure had survived the journey.

The teddy bear had survived.

The Hawaiian shirts had survived.

And, most importantly, Ye Olde Large Lad had survived several hours without a proper buffet.

The treasure chest was sitting in the middle of the room.

Everyone gathered around it.

Salty looked at the mess.

“Right.”

Nobody moved.

“We need to tidy this up.”

Large Lad looked horrified.

“TIDY?”

“Yes.”

“We just found treasure.”

“And now we're going to organise it.”

Large Lad sighed.

“This holiday is getting worse.”

🧹 Operation Tidy-Up

The team began sorting everything.

Gold coins went into one box.

Jewellery went into another.

Old documents were carefully placed into folders.

The mysterious map was rolled up.

Miguel the teddy bear was given a place of honour.

McFinleyyy was put in charge of the paperwork.

Captain Morgan was checking the treasure chest.

Dinkz was taking photographs.

John Daniels was counting the coins.

Patel was carefully examining the old objects.

Vicky was helping Salty organise everything.

Large Lad was given one simple job.

“Put the empty boxes outside.”

He nodded.

Five minutes later, he returned.

“DONE.”

Sarah looked out the window.

“The boxes are still there.”

Large Lad looked confused.

“THEY'RE OUTSIDE.”

“They're on the doorstep.”

“Yes.”

“They need to go to the recycling.”

Large Lad sighed.

“TREASURE HUNTING WAS EASIER.”

Everyone laughed.

☕ Sarah and Susan

Eventually, the room was looking much better.

Sarah and Susan were sitting together quietly.

They exchanged a glance.

Sarah smiled.

Susan nodded.

Salty noticed.

“You two alright?”

Sarah smiled.

“We've got something to tell everyone.”

The room became quiet.

Even Large Lad stopped looking for food.

Sarah took a breath.

“Susan and I…”

She paused.

“…are both pregnant.”

Silence.

Complete silence.

Salty's mouth dropped open.

Vicky smiled.

Dinkz stared.

John Daniels nearly dropped a handful of coins.

Captain Morgan looked genuinely stunned.

Patel smiled warmly.

Then Large Lad finally spoke.

“BOTH?”

Sarah nodded.

Large Lad looked at Susan.

“AT THE SAME TIME?”

Susan laughed.

“Yes.”

Large Lad looked around the room.

“This treasure hunt got VERY COMPLICATED.”

Everyone burst out laughing.

🍼 A New Generation of Misfits

Salty walked over and gave both women a big congratulatory hug.

“That's fantastic news.”

Vicky smiled.

“Congratulations.”

Captain Morgan raised his glass.

“To Sarah and Susan.”

Everyone joined in.

“To Sarah and Susan!”

McFinleyyy suddenly looked concerned.

“Does this mean we're going to have two new members of the Misfits?”

Susan laughed.

“Eventually.”

Large Lad's eyes widened.

“DO THEY LIKE CHIPS?”

McFinleyyy immediately moved the chip bowl away from him.

“They're not even born yet!”

“JUST ASKING.”

Patel laughed.

“I think they'll fit in perfectly.”

Sarah smiled.

“We've got plenty of time before they join the gang.”

Salty looked around the room.

“After everything we've been through…”

He paused.

“I think this is the best surprise of the entire trip.”

Susan smiled.

Sarah nodded.

The treasure was forgotten for a moment.

The maps.

The gold.

The clues.

The mysterious teddy bear.

None of it seemed quite as important now.

The Salty Gang had returned from Spain with treasure…

but they had also returned with something much more valuable.

Two brand-new members of the Misfit family on the way.

Large Lad suddenly raised his hand.

“Yes?” asked Sarah.

“CAN I BE GODFATHER?”

Everyone stared at him.

Salty laughed.

“That's a conversation for another day.”

Large Lad nodded.

“FAIR ENOUGH.”

Then he looked at McFinleyyy.

“CAN I HAVE THE CHIPS?”

“No.”

And just like that, normal service was resumed.
