The Salty Spain Special — Chapter 13

πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Έ The Salty Spain Special — Chapter 13

πŸ’° Getting the Treasure Home

The Salty Gang stood around the treasure chest.

Nobody spoke.

They had spent days following clues.

They had searched fountains.

They had visited fish markets.

They had crossed the sea.

They had climbed mountains.

Large Lad had dug like a man possessed while listening to Iron Maiden.

And now they had finally found the treasure.

There was just one tiny problem.

How were they going to get it home?

Captain Morgan looked at the chest.

Then at the group.

“We can't exactly carry that through the airport.”

Salty nodded.

“Good point.”

Large Lad looked confused.

“WHY NOT?”

“Because it's a huge chest full of gold.”

Large Lad shrugged.

“PUT IT IN A SUITCASE.”

Everyone stared at him.

McFinleyyy slowly nodded.

“Actually…”

Sarah interrupted.

“No.”

🧳 Operation Suitcase

They began dividing the treasure into smaller amounts.

Coins went into bags.

Jewellery went into pouches.

The mysterious ancient objects were wrapped carefully.

And Miguel the teddy bear was given pride of place.

Large Lad watched everything.

“HOW MUCH CAN I TAKE?”

“Nothing,” said Salty.

“WHY?”

“Because you already have enough luggage.”

Large Lad looked offended.

“My suitcase is perfectly normal.”

Everyone looked at his enormous suitcase.

It had required two people to lift it onto the boat.

Dinkz laughed.

“Normal?”

“YES.”

Captain Morgan sighed.

“Let's just get everything packed.”

Eventually, the treasure was distributed among several bags.

Patel looked at the pile.

“I think we've done it.”

Salty smiled.

“Excellent.”

Vicky looked at him.

“You realise we're going to have to explain where all this came from.”

Salty paused.

“Good point.”

Sarah laughed.

“Maybe don't mention the mysterious teddy bear.”

Susan nodded.

“Or the secret map.”

John Daniels added:

“Or the King of Curries.”

McFinleyyy looked at everyone.

“And definitely don't mention the chips.”

Everyone turned towards him.

“Why?”

McFinleyyy looked serious.

“Because I still have them.”

Large Lad's eyes widened.

“YOU WHAT?”

McFinleyyy ran.

πŸƒ The Great Chip Escape

Large Lad charged after him.

“GIVE ME THE CHIPS!”

“NO!”

“THE CHIPS BELONG TO THE TEAM!”

“I'm the team!”

“You're McFinleyyy!”

“Exactly!”

Salty watched them disappear down the mountain path.

He shook his head.

“Every treasure hunt needs a little drama.”

Captain Morgan smiled.

“Let's hope that's the last of it.”

It wasn't.

🚀 Back to the Marina

The gang returned to the boat with their treasure safely packed.

Eddie Irvine looked at them.

“You found it?”

Salty smiled.

“We did.”

Eddie looked at the luggage.

“That's a lot of bags.”

Salty nodded.

“Souvenirs.”

Eddie raised an eyebrow.

“Souvenirs?”

“Very expensive souvenirs.”

Eddie laughed.

They sailed back towards the marina.

For the first time, the group could relax.

The mystery had been solved.

The treasure was safe.

Patel had stayed loyal.

Vicky had become part of the team.

And Large Lad had stopped chasing McFinleyyy.

For approximately five minutes.

✈️ The Journey Home

The following day, the Salty Gang arrived at the airport.

Everyone was nervous.

They had bags everywhere.

Captain Morgan counted them.

“One…”

“Two…”

“Three…”

“Four…”

“Where's Large Lad?”

Everyone looked around.

Then they heard:

“COMING!”

Large Lad appeared dragging his enormous suitcase.

He was also wearing his ridiculous Hawaiian shirt.

And his headphones.

Iron Maiden was playing.

Salty laughed.

“You're actually wearing that to the airport?”

Large Lad nodded.

“IT'S MY TREASURE HUNT SHIRT.”

Vicky smiled.

“It certainly makes you easy to find.”

The group checked in.

And, amazingly, everything went smoothly.

No problems.

No arguments.

No suspicious questions.

The treasure was packed away safely.

Salty sat down and looked at everyone.

“We actually did it.”

Patel smiled.

“Together.”

Captain Morgan nodded.

Sarah raised her coffee.

“To the Salty Gang.”

Everyone joined in.

“To the Salty Gang!”

Large Lad raised his drink.

“And to the treasure!”

McFinleyyy raised his bag.

“And to the chips!”

Everyone laughed.

πŸ›« Homeward Bound

The flight home was just as smooth as the journey out.

Salty sat by the window.

Spain disappeared beneath the clouds.

He smiled.

What had started as a simple holiday had turned into the strangest adventure of their lives.

A mysterious teddy bear.

A secret treasure map.

A fish-market feast.

A marina mystery.

The King of Curries.

A double-cross that never happened.

A boat trip.

A mountain.

A treasure chest.

And one very exhausted Large Lad.

Vicky looked across at Salty.

“You know what?”

“What?”

“I think we'll have to do this again.”

Salty smiled.

“Definitely.”

Sarah overheard.

“Absolutely not.”

Susan laughed.

“Oh, come on.”

Dinkz nodded.

“I'd go again.”

John Daniels smiled.

“Me too.”

Captain Morgan looked at the group.

“Where next?”

Everyone began shouting suggestions.

France!

Italy!

Portugal!

Even Large Lad had an idea.

LAS VEGAS!

Salty laughed.

“Let's get home first.”

The plane continued across the clouds.

Below them, Spain slowly disappeared into the distance.

And somewhere in the luggage compartment sat the mysterious treasure.

The Salty Gang had done the impossible.

They had found it.

They had kept it.

And, most importantly…

they were bringing it home.
