It was barely noon and already chaos was stirring in Salty’s Super Store. Sgt. Salty was inside inspecting a box of battery-powered foot warmers when the shop door flew open like a gust of Arctic wind.

In waddled four figures — puffed up in parkas, boots, and snow goggles. The air conditioning wasn't even that cold, but these buyers were ready for a blizzard.

“Ah, must be the Eskimo delegation I emailed last week,” Salty muttered, smirking.

The leader stepped forward. “We heard you sell… ice?”

Salty didn’t flinch. “Only the finest. Frozen in slabs, cubed, crushed — or custom sculpted into a miniature snow walrus. What’s your flavour?”

The man nodded solemnly. “We live on ice. We are ice. But we want your ice. And maybe… some extra cushions too.”

Salty tapped his chin theatrically. “For sitting on frozen benches?”

“Yes. The cold bites. We want comfort.”

He clapped once. A staffer appeared instantly, dragging a cart stacked with furry, overstuffed cushions in leopard print, faux polar bear, and one that suspiciously looked like Chewbacca.

“These bad boys have been sat on by influencers, diplomats, and a man from Donegal who said it cured his backache. Take six and I’ll throw in a free slushie.”

“Done.”

The Eskimos began loading up their baskets, chatting excitedly. One even asked about a portable sauna, to which Salty responded:

“Right this way — and would you like your sauna with Bluetooth speakers?”

Ten minutes later, they'd cleared out half the Arctic-themed section.

Salty leaned back behind the till, whistling.

“Sold ice to the Eskimos. Cushions too. What a world.”

He sipped his lukewarm coffee and muttered, “You just need to listen, offer comfort, and boom — you’ve made warmth from thin air.”
