The Scottish Lasses
🇪🇸🏴 STG. SALTY AND GOVNA
The Scottish Lasses
The South of Spain had already provided Stg. Salty and Govna with sunshine, cold drinks, questionable decisions and several stories that probably shouldn't be repeated at breakfast.
But neither man expected their next adventure to involve two Scottish ladies from Edinburgh.
It was late afternoon when Salty and Govna were wandering along the promenade, enjoying the sunshine and discussing the important matters of life.
"Another drink?" asked Govna.
"Obviously," said Salty. "We're conducting research."
"Research into what?"
"How many cold drinks a man can have before he starts speaking Spanish."
Govna nodded seriously.
"Important work."
They had barely walked another fifty yards when they noticed two ladies sitting outside a bar.
Both looked as though they were having a great time, laughing and chatting over their drinks.
"Scottish," said Govna.
Salty looked at him.
"How do you know?"
"Accent."
"You've heard them say one word."
"Aye."
Salty shook his head.
The two ladies looked over.
One smiled.
Then the other.
Govna smiled back.
Salty immediately realised that his afternoon had just become considerably more interesting.
They introduced themselves.
The first was Audrey, originally from Edinburgh.
The second was Sabrina, also from Edinburgh.
Within minutes, the four of them were chatting away as if they'd known each other for years.
There was plenty of laughing, plenty of teasing and a considerable amount of discussion about the differences between Scotland, Ireland and Spain.
Eventually Audrey looked at Salty.
"So, what are you two up to tonight?"
Salty glanced at Govna.
Govna glanced at Salty.
"We're available," Salty announced.
"Very available," added Govna.
Sabrina laughed.
"Well, we're heading out later."
"Right," said Salty.
There was a pause.
Then Salty smiled.
"Oh right… come join us."
And that was that.
Phone numbers were exchanged.
Plans were made.
Nobody was entirely sure what the evening would bring.
But everybody was fairly sure it would involve alcohol.

🍹 THE CAPTAIN'S TABLE
The following evening, Salty and Govna arrived at the bar looking considerably more organised than usual.
This was partly because they wanted to impress Audrey and Sabrina.
It was also partly because Captain Morgan was available for drinks at the Captain's Table.
Salty looked at the bottle.
"Captain," he said respectfully.
Govna nodded.
"Good man."
The evening started innocently enough.
Drinks were ordered.
Stories were told.
Audrey and Sabrina proved that Edinburgh humour could hold its own against the finest nonsense that Salty and Govna could produce.
Soon everybody was laughing.
The Captain's Table became the centre of operations.
There were stories about Scotland.
Stories about Ireland.
Stories about Spain.
And, naturally, stories that became considerably less believable as the evening progressed.
At one point Govna announced:
"I've always wanted to visit Edinburgh."
Sabrina raised an eyebrow.
"Have you?"
"Absolutely."
"When?"
Govna paused.
"Well… I've always wanted to."
Everyone burst out laughing.
Salty nearly fell off his chair.
"You've never been anywhere near Edinburgh!"
"I said I wanted to!"
"That's not the same thing!"
By midnight, nobody was particularly interested in geography anymore.
The chemistry between the four was obvious.
There was flirting.
There was dancing.
There were knowing smiles across the table.
And there was one particular moment when Govna and one of the ladies disappeared from the conversation for several minutes because they appeared to have become rather interested in each other.
Salty noticed.
He simply smiled into his drink.
"Govna," he whispered.
Govna looked over.
Salty raised his glass.
"Good luck, son."
Govna laughed.

🌙 BACK TO THE HOTEL
Eventually the group decided it was time to call it a night.
They said their goodbyes outside the bar.
There were hugs.
There was more laughter.
And there were promises that this certainly wouldn't be the last time they met.
Salty headed off with Audrey.
Govna headed off with Sabrina.
Or perhaps it was the other way around.
By this stage, even Salty wasn't completely sure.
The important thing was that everyone was smiling.
Back at the hotel, the atmosphere became considerably quieter.
The four friends said goodnight, with Salty and Audrey disappearing towards their room while Govna and Sabrina went the other way.
Salty looked back at Govna.
Govna gave him a grin.
Salty immediately knew exactly what that grin meant.
"Behave yourself," Salty called.
Govna laughed.
"No promises!"
And with that, the doors closed.
What happened next was strictly between two consenting adults.
Let's just say Govna didn't get much sleep that night.
The following morning, Salty appeared at breakfast looking surprisingly cheerful.
Govna arrived several minutes later.
He looked even more cheerful.
Salty slowly raised an eyebrow.
"Good night?"
Govna sat down.
"Excellent."
Salty nodded knowingly.
"I'll say no more."
"Best not."
Across the restaurant, Audrey and Sabrina appeared.
Everyone exchanged smiles.
The previous night's adventure had clearly gone rather well.
And as Salty lifted his coffee, he realised something important.
They had come to the South of Spain for sunshine, drinks and a bit of fun.
They hadn't expected to meet two Scottish ladies from Edinburgh.
But sometimes, the best BigSaltyDog stories are the ones you never planned.
And somewhere in the hotel bar, Captain Morgan was probably still waiting for the next round.
TO BE CONTINUED… 🇪🇸🏴🍹😎
